Skilled partner in computer engineering, vision, AI, numerical simulation and neural network, over the last ten years he has been teaching images’ digital processing and pattern recognition and smart systems at Messina University.

1983 – Education
He graduates in Physics at Catania University, with full marks and honors thanks to the thesis “Defects induced by Amorphous Silicon’s Ionic Bundle”. At the New Jersey Institute of Technology, he obtains a M.Sc. in Computer Science with the thesis “A General Purpose Robotic Dynamic Simulator” and a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science with the thesis “Genetically Evolved Dynamic Control for Quadruped Walking”.

Researcher since 1998
His constant Research activity begins in the United States, from 1998 to 2000 where he is Special Lecturer for the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Research Fellow at Rutgers University.

2003 – 2005 Fraunhofer ITWM 
Until 2005 he is General Consultant at Fraunhofer ITWM, important research center elaborating algorithms that calculate and analyze technical systems creating links between applied science and real applications.

Messina University
Giorgio is Professor and Researcher at Messina University since 2006. He teaches images’ digital processing and pattern recognition and smart systems.

Active consultation to companies
After a short experience as software consultant at Reality Communication, from 2008 to 2011 he is also member of the Board at Etna Hitech. Since 1990 he cooperates with G.G.G. Elettromeccanica S.r.l., since 2004 he is partner at B&G Consulting S.r.l. and, since 2011 at Noviacom.
